• Optimal Application
  For best results, we recommend using the UV kit during the final 2–3 weeks of flowering, positioned between existing lights. This is when stress-induced secondary metabolite production is most beneficial.  Or at nighttime (30min at lights off and 30min before on) for PM - as PM shuts down its defense mechanism at night.  Be careful to not disrupt the photoperiod though.  

Why UV Light Matters:

Ultraviolet light plays a critical role in plant development and defense. Controlled UV exposure has been shown to:

• Enhance resin and terpene production by activating plant defense mechanisms $3$.

• Stimulate cannabinoid synthesis, including THC and CBD $1, 2$.

• Reduce powdery mildew and microbial growth, especially when used at night when pathogens are most vulnerable $4$.

• Deter insects, as plants increase production of bitter compounds and volatile oils in response to UV $3$.

⚠️ Note: While UV can boost quality, excessive use—especially during bulking—can reduce yield or damage DNA. Always follow recommended use windows and intensity guidelines.

Usage Recommendations:

• Vegetative Caution: We do not recommend UV during veg due to the diode lifespan and potential plant sensitivity.

In our field use, the Mammoth UV Kit has not caused yield loss or hermaphroditism, even with extended flowering use.
